1. Using the CardifyAI Dashboard

The dashboard is the core of CardifyAI. You’ll use it to turn your raw study material into clean, exportable flashcards.

Step 1 · Open the Dashboard

  1. Go to the CardifyAI website and sign in with Google.
  2. Click Dashboard in the top navigation bar.
  3. You’ll see the Source Text box, PDF upload field, and card count input.

Step 2 · Add your study material

  1. Option A – Paste text:
    Copy your lecture notes, textbook paragraphs, or high-yield bullets and paste them into the Source Text box.
  2. Option B – Upload a PDF:
    Click the Upload a PDF field and select your slides or handouts. If you also pasted text, CardifyAI will combine both.
  3. In the Number of Cards field, enter how many flashcards you’d like (for example, 25, 50, or 100).

Step 3 · Generate and preview your deck

  1. Click the Generate Flashcards button.
  2. A short loading message will appear while CardifyAI processes your content.
  3. After generation, scroll down to the Preview section to review each front (question) and back (answer).
  4. If you like the deck, you’re ready to export. If not, tweak your input or card count and generate again.

2. Using the CardifyAI Browser Extension

The extension lets you highlight text anywhere on the web and instantly send it into CardifyAI without leaving the page.

Note: The extension is available for Premium and Professional plans. Once you’re on one of these plans, you’ll see direct links to the Chrome, Edge, and Firefox extensions inside your Dashboard.

Step 1 · Install the extension

  1. Open the Dashboard while signed in.
  2. In the “Browser Extensions” section, click the store link for your browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
  3. On the store page, click Add to browser (or the equivalent button) to install.
  4. Pin the extension icon so it’s easy to access while you study.

Step 2 · Highlight and generate cards

  1. Navigate to any article, PDF in your browser, or online notes.
  2. Use your mouse to highlight the text you want to study.
  3. Click the CardifyAI extension icon (or use the right-click context menu option).
  4. When prompted, choose how many flashcards you want to generate (for example, 20) and confirm.

Step 3 · Review your deck in CardifyAI

  1. After you confirm the card count, the extension opens your CardifyAI Dashboard with the text and card count already filled in.
  2. CardifyAI generates the flashcards automatically using the same daily limits as the web app.
  3. Scroll down to preview the questions and answers, then export just like any other deck.

3. Exporting & Importing into Your Flashcard App

Once you like your deck, you can export it and bring it into Anki or any other flashcard app that supports CSV or JSON.

Step 1 · Export from CardifyAI

  1. On the Dashboard, scroll to the Preview and Download Deck section.
  2. Choose your preferred format:
    • Anki (.apkg) – best for direct Anki use.
    • CSV – for other flashcard apps or spreadsheets.
    • JSON – for custom tooling or advanced workflows.
  3. Click the download button and save the file to a folder you can easily find.

Step 2 · Import into Anki (.apkg)

  1. Open the Anki desktop app.
  2. Go to File → Import.
  3. Select the .apkg file you downloaded from CardifyAI.
  4. Choose or create the deck you want to import into, then confirm.
  5. Your cards will appear inside Anki, ready for review and scheduling.

Step 3 · Import into other apps (CSV / JSON)

  1. For apps that support CSV, look for an Import or Upload option and select the CSV you exported from CardifyAI.
  2. Make sure the app maps columns correctly: typically front → Question, back → Answer.
  3. If you’re using a custom tool or script, you can consume the JSON export to integrate CardifyAI cards into your own study workflows.
